The Rotary Foundation facilitates scholarship opportunities through the Rotary Foundation Global Grants, supporting graduate-level coursework or research spanning one to four academic years. These grants are available for study at any approved university in a country hosting a Rotary club or district, excluding the applicant’s home country.
Study Levels and Fields:
The scholarships cover graduate-level coursework or research in Rotary’s six focus areas: Peace and conflict prevention/resolution, Disease prevention and treatment, Water and sanitation, Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy, and Economic and community development.
Target Group:
Non-Rotarians sponsored by Rotary Districts or Clubs.
Scholarship Value/Inclusions:
Global grant scholarships have a minimum budget of $30,000, encompassing various aspects such as passport/visa, inoculations, travel expenses (as per grant terms), school supplies, tuition, room and board, household supplies, and language training courses (excluding cases where university admission is contingent on language skills improvement). However, most personal and miscellaneous expenses are not covered.
Eligibility Requirements:
Refer to the scholarship page of the respective Rotary Club/District where you plan to apply for detailed eligibility criteria.
Application Process:
Interested applicants should contact their local Rotary clubs through the Rotary Club Locator to explore sponsorship for the grant. Global grant applications are submitted online, with sponsor clubs or districts initiating the application. The scholar candidate then completes the online scholar profile. Applications are accepted throughout the year, but submission at least three months before the scholar’s intended departure is recommended for adequate Foundation review and processing time. Note that each Rotary Club/District may have its specific timeline.
For detailed application instructions, it is crucial to read the Rotary Global Grant Scholarship Supplement and visit the official website.
