Eligibility requirements

All applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Hold nationality in a country outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Surinam and meet the prerequisites for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands.
  • Do not possess dual nationality from an EU/EEA country.
  • Have submitted an application for admission to a full-time Master’s program at Maastricht University for the academic year 2024-2025.
  • Satisfy the specific admission requirements of the UM Master’s program for which you have applied.
  • Have not previously enrolled in a degree-seeking higher education program, primary education program, or secondary education program in the Netherlands. Applicants who have completed exchange programs in the Netherlands are eligible to apply.
  • Be under the age of 35 as of September 1, 2024.
  • Demonstrate outstanding academic performance in previous education programs, as evidenced by your most recent grade transcript or certified by academic excellence. In the event of equally qualified applicants, preference will be given to those whose academic records place them in the top 5% of the 2023/24 scholarship program applicants.
