I. Introduction

The China Link Scholarship Program, established by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), aims to foster academic friendship and mutual understanding between young scholars from China and abroad. This program provides a platform for international exchanges and collaboration among young talents, enabling international students and faculty to engage in academic and research activities in China.

II. Program Details

1. Funding Categories

• General Scholar: Open to current undergraduate or master’s students.
• Senior Scholar: Open to current Ph.D. students or faculty members.

2. Duration

• Scholarship duration ranges from 1 to 12 months.
• Studies in China must commence no later than August 31, 2025.

3. Working Language

• English or Chinese, depending on the specific program offered by the host university in China.

4. Study/Research Fields

• All disciplines are eligible except for Chinese language studies.

III. Funding

Successful applicants will receive a full scholarship from the CSC, which includes:

• Tuition waiver
• Free on-campus accommodation
• Comprehensive medical insurance
• Monthly stipend (CNY 3,000 for general scholars; CNY 3,500 for senior scholars)

IV. Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a citizen of a country other than China, possess good moral character and academic excellence, and be in good health both mentally and physically.
2. Be under 45 years of age for general scholars and under 50 years for senior scholars.
3. Be registered as a full-time student or employed as a full-time academic staff at one of CSC’s foreign partner universities at the time of application and throughout their stay in China (refer to Appendix 1 for the list of partner universities).
4. Have received either an admission notice or an invitation letter from a Chinese host university (refer to Appendix 2 for the list of host universities).

V. Application Process

1. Contact the Chinese host university to obtain admission documents or invitations.
2. Complete the CSC online application and upload supporting documents through the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System here. For the online application guide, refer to Appendix 3.
3. Applications will be processed by the Chinese host universities.
4. Deadlines for host universities to nominate scholarship candidates to CSC are April 15, 2024; July 15, 2024; October 15, 2024; and January 15, 2025.
5. CSC will send scholarship admission results to host universities by May 15, 2024; August 15, 2024; November 15, 2024; and February 15, 2025.
6. Chinese host universities will notify applicants of their scholarship admission results.
